Message from Dean

Faculty of Literature & Languages

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to the  Faculty of Languages and Literature at  University of Balochistan. The most attractive dimension of this faculty is its ideal learning environment.

We offer M.A, M.Phil, and Ph.D programs in Brahvi, Balochi, English, Persian, and Urdu Literature/Linguistics.

The learned professors of our faculty acquaint learners with the latest development in their field. Most of our professors are Ph.Ds. Among our faculty members are recipients of National Award for the best teacher and Tamgha-i-Imtiaz.

The university education system has one major function and that is research. Our professors are actively involved in various research projects and have published peer-reviewed books and journal publications. The faculty of languages and literature can boast of its three research journals- Takatoo in Pashto, Hanken in Balochi and Al-Burz in Brahvi. Takatoo and Hanken are HEC recognized journals.

Our mission is to prepare students for any career requiring critical reading, clear thinking, and effective communication and writing skills. Literature grant us insight into diverse human conditions and experiences. Students of literature understand the diversity of human nature. The vibrant world of words and wisdom enable our students to walk through the complexities of life with courage, assurance, and understanding.
