LABS

Library:

Library of the Department contains more than 2500 text books ,reference books, geological encyclopedias, field reports and audio visual materials (i.e. geological videos, CDs, slides and transparences).

Geochemistry lab:

This laboratory has some facilities for geochemical analysis equipped with glassware and chemicals.

Petrography  lab:

The petrography lab has facilities for megascopic analysis of minerals and rocks.

Microscopic lab:  

For microscopic analysis of the rocks and minerals, this lab is equipped with transmitted and reflected research microscopes, polarizing microscopes, and projected microscope. One research microscope is attached with computer and a camera for microphotographs

Thin section lab:

This  Laboratory has facilities for thin section preparation of rocks and is equipped with rock cutting machine, polishing machine, grinder with different mesh size abrasive sands and other chemicals used in thin section preparation. Other equipment are crusher, water distal plant, and micro grinder. This laboratory also provides facilities to the M. Phil and Ph. D students of CEM.

Computer lab:

This Lab. is equipped with 8 computers, a Lasar Printer, a Scanner and a Photocopier. All computers are connected with main net work of the University.

Museum:

The Museum of geology is one of the attractive places of the University. It contains about 1000 specimens of rocks, minerals and fossils of foreign as well as local collections.
